Victoria Lewis she/her
Founder & Artist Director

I am an artist working in acrylic and oil paint, as well as a sketch artist. My connection to Boston runs deep — The Bean called, and I answered, as a proud UMass Boston alum. At my core, I am someone with a soft spot for community and fellowship. I create not only with my hands but with my heart, holding onto a stubborn hope that love and care can be shared, nurtured, and practiced daily through the things we make and the way we show up for one another.

My talents and passions center around leadership, public speaking, and serving as a change agent.  My connection to Boston began when I moved here in an act of faith, trusting the path that was set before me. I’ve never really considered myself a nature person, but every time I step into a quiet outdoor space, I’m surprised by how calm it makes me feel. Even without loving the outdoors itself, I can’t deny the sense of serenity it brings.

My artistic mediums include watercolor, acrylics, and digital art. I am connected to the OhVic Museum as an enthusiastic volunteer, and my connection to Victoria is especially meaningful as I had the honor of being her undergraduate professor and remain a forever mentor to her. My connection to Boston began when I moved here for graduate school, and I now serve as a professor at UMass Boston. I am also a Christian activist, an avid reader, and a traveler at heart — I often visit places in my mind first, and then make it a point to experience them in person.

College Friend

My art medium is yarn — specifically crochet of all kinds. I am connected to the OhVic Museum as a college friend of Victoria’s and serve as a volunteer clerk and social media representative on Instagram. My connection to Boston comes from earning my bachelor’s degree from Boston University. I taught myself how to crochet in 2022–2023, and my very first project was a blanket for my cat that turned out all kinds of messed up. Even so, it’s incredibly fun and fulfilling to look back on that first piece and see how far I’ve come in just a few years.

My talents include composing, playing the viola, choral singing, and digital doodling. My connection to the OhVic Museum is personal through Victoria, who is like a big sister to me and also my housemate. Boston is my hometown and the place that has shaped so much of who I am. I’ve often been told that the best artists are multi-hyphenates, and I’ve come to embrace that idea as I explore and express creativity in many different forms.

Volunteer Social Media Rep

I have a passion for videography and photography as a way to tell stories and capture meaningful moments. I serve as a Volunteer Social Media Representative for the OhVic Museum, where I help share the energy and creativity of the community through visual content. I was born and somewhat raised between Boston and Atlanta, and the experiences and cultures of both cities have shaped my perspective and creative style behind the lens.
